The object of the Science Association of Nigeria is to foster the pursuit, understanding and application of Science, especially in Nigeria. (The Association’s policy is not only to encourage research, but also to encourage science teaching in the schools and generally to promote the training of scientists. It also disseminates the result of scientific work both to scientists and laymen).
The Association was inaugurated at a Conference held at the University College, Ibadan on Thursday 18th December, 1958 at 5.15pm. It holds Annual Conferences where Scientific papers are read and discussed. These Annual Conferences, which last three or four days, are held in various parts of Nigeria.
